From the Collection: Historical sketches, term paper, clippings, and other material, relating to Fort Abraham Lincoln (originally known as Fort McKeen), established 1872 near Mandan, N.D., garrisoned by the U.S. 7th Cavalry under Gen. George A. Custer, and abandoned 1891; together with dedication program (1940) of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park and material concerning the outdoor drama documenting Custer and the Battle of the Little Big Horn, entitled Trail West.
