From the Collection: Correspondence, typewritten summaries of interviews, taped interviews with Hilstad and Roy Bunn, relating to the Blanchard, Belle Prairie, and Grandin bonanza farms in Traill and Cass counties, N.D.; abstract of platting of Traill Centre; statistical information concerning Mayville, N.D., churches; articles, several written by Hilstad's wife, Mary (Dunlevy) Hilstad, chiefly concerning Traill County history; letters written by Torsten Torstenson Kopseng to Norwegian relatives, describing his service during the Civil War; and other papers. Persons represented include Datus C. Smith, owner of Belle Prairie Farm.
