Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
This Great Plains Produce Association records include documents relating to the association from 1980 to 1983, and are comprised primarily of newsletters though there are meeting minutes and membership records as well. The records are organized into six series: Constitution and Resolution, Meeting Minutes, Newsletters, Correspondence, Membership, and Subject.
The Constitution and Resolution Series includes the association’s constitution, written in 1980, and a resolution from 1983.
The Meeting Minutes Series includes documentation relating to annual and special meetings from 1980 to 1983.
The Newsletters Series consists of the association’s newsletters. The newsletters were published on a weekly basis during the summer and fall, and every four to six weeks during the winter. The newsletters are primarily from 1981-1982, but some exist from 1980 and 1983 as well.
The Correspondence Series includes only two letters from 1983 relating to the association. One of them pertains to allegations of theft of produce by the minister of a nearby town.
The Membership Series includes directories, invitations to join, and membership forms.
The Subject Files Series includes association labels and letterhead, event agendas, and newspaper clippings.
