Scope and Content

From the Collection: The St. Luke’s School of Nursing Records document the business of the school, from 1924 to the dissolution in 1987. The bulk of the records are from the last thirty years of operation. They have been organized into eleven series: Admission Series, Faculty Series, Student Series, Curriculum Series, Meeting Minute Series, Correspondence Series, Reports and Policies Series, Publication Series, Graduation Series, Restricted Series, and Ephemera Series & Artifact Series.

The Admission Series contains information related to admissions, and the tri-college system.

The Faculty Series contains faculty data sheets and faculty organizations.

The Student Series contains student handbooks, manuals, and anything student related.

The Curriculum Series contains the courses taught at St. Luke’s School of Nursing.

The Meeting Minute Series contains meeting minutes and notes from meetings relating to classes, the school, and staff.

The Correspondence Series contains correspondence between prospective students, graduates, instructors, and staff of St. Luke’s School of Nursing.

The Reports and Policies Series contains reports and school policies, committee decisions, and legal information.

The Publication Series contains nurses manuals, publications relating to St. Luke’s School of Nursing, their year book, and student publications.

The Graduation Series contains information on class anniversaries and graduation programs.

The Restricted Series contains transcripts in alphabetical order and instructor policies. The files are not open to public view.

The Ephemera Series & Artifact Series holds several mounted proclamations, signs, posters, and the school seal, plaques, pins, and a nurses hat.
