From the Collection: Typed reminiscence concerning his father, Benjamin Papermaster (1860-1934), a Lithuanian immigrant, who became the first rabbi at Grand Forks, N.D. Includes his life in Anolovo, Lithuania, immigration in 1890, arrival at Grand Forks in 1891, organizing the Grand Forks Jewish congregation, building the synagogue, his work with Jewish families in North Dakota, relations with other Grand Forks churches, Grand Forks city government, the death of his first wife and his remarriage. Mentions Jewish holidays and customs, names of early Jewish settlers, and includes many Hebrew terms.
