Correspondence and summary of interview (10 p.) with Gale's son, Harry F. Gale, relating to J. Hollis Gale's life, family affairs, and early pioneers of Cass County, N.D., and Moorhead, Minn., including James Holes and David H. Houston; reminiscence of Gale's daughter, concerning her parents and grandmother, Julia Simmons, of Woodstock, Vt., and later California; audit report of Gale's estate and final decree; autograph book; and clippings. Other family members represented include Gale's wife, Jennie Simmons Gale; her brothers, Frederich B. and William H. Simmons, of Hunter, N.D., and her father, Nathan Simmons.
