Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Rosebud 4-H Club records are divided into three series: Treasurer’s Record Book, Secretary’s Record Book and Scrapbook. The Treasurer’s Record Book Series covers the years 1968-1989. They detail the amount of money coming in from dues and the amount of money spent on craft materials and celebrations. Most of the money was spent on crafts and entrance fees for the Red River Valley Fair. The Secretary’s Record Book Series covers the years 1935-1968, 1971-1975, 1978-1983, 1986-1987, 1988-1990, and 1992. They contain meeting minutes from each meeting. They say if there was a demonstration, the business discussed, and if there was any entertainment. The entertainment ranged from someone serving dinner to Pictionary or tag. The Scrapbook Series consists of a scrapbook titled Rosebud from 1977-1985, 4-H Club Scrapbook. It contains photographs of members at the Red River Valley Fair and other activities. Also there are flyers from recognition dinners, letters of congratulation from the County Extension Office and ribbons from group competitions. Once section contains cards, pictures and guest signatures from the club’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 1985.
