The Horace School District #5 Records cover the period 1878-1935, but are not all-inclusive. Detailed teachers’ records for 1882-84 list the names of the teachers, their pay rate, the number of days they taught each month, and the names of the students along with the students’ attendance records. There are school board meeting minutes and teachers’ registers.

History

The Horace School District #5 was organized on March 10, 1876. It was located in Horace, North Dakota. Information provided to the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works on July 2, 1935, states that it would be very difficult to ascertain whether or not the school district was properly organized under territorial law. Horace School District #5 no longer exists. The schools that were in the Horace School District now fall into the Fargo School District.
