Scope and Contents
Rolly Hogue's Lawrence Welk Photograph Collection contains thirty-nine photographs that were taken from correspondence Rollie Hogue had with Lawrence Welk. The photographs cover the years from 1963 to 1983 and range in size from 3¼ x 3½ to 8x10 inches. The collection includes photographs of groups and individuals as well as a formal photograph of Mr. Welk.
The Aldridge sisters duo is pictured as also are dancers Bobby Burgess, Elaine Niverson and Cissy King. Other individuals pictured are Pat Hogue, Mrs. Kneip, and Governor Ed Whitcomb of Indiana.
The Medora, N.D. file contains images of Welk with family and local dignitaries taken at Rough Riders Hotel in 1965. The special days featured are a Rolly (Buster) Hogue Christmas photograph and a photograph of Lawrence Welk at a reception.
The performances photographs feature Lawrence with Myron Floren and Joe Feeney plus two photographs of other performers.
The golf file includes pictures of Mr. Welk with friends and golf partners at various courses and tournaments. Senator and Mrs. Milton Young are pictured in two of the photographs. Other individuals pictured with Mr. Welk are Rolly Hogue, his wife Pat, daughter Teri and Governor William Guy of N.D.

Biography
Rolly (Buster) Hogue, born November 7, 1923, grew up in Linton, North Dakota where his father was a medical physician. Mr. Hogue served in the United States Navy, and later owned his own construction company in Linton. After his war service he returned to Linton and helped his mother manage the Willows Hotel and other properties in the town. In 1950 he married Patricia Knudson of Pollock, S.D. Together they raised a family of six children.
Rolly Hogue's association with Lawrence Welk started with his father, who was the Welk's family doctor. Hogue began playing golf around 1958, and began playing golf with Welk a few years later. Besides being Welk's golf partner, Hogue was also his scheduling manager when Lawrence Welk would visit North Dakota. In 1980 he and wife Pat moved to Fargo, N.D. where he worked as a realtor for Coldwell Banker Real Estate. Upon his retirement they moved to Rapid City, S.D. and in 2007 to Florida. He died there March 5, 2009.
