Aden Stevens Pratt was born on August 14, 1865 in Campbell, New York, son of Joseph and Minerva (Horton) Pratt. At a young age he moved with his family to Grand Rapids, Michigan. In the late 1880s, he came to Cass County, Dakota Territory, settling near the town of Page. Here he married Edna Erb, on April 24, 1890. They had three children together, Alford, Theorn, and Celia. By 1900, the Pratt family was living in Golden, Washington, where the 1900 Federal Census lists Aden as a Hotel Keeper. The 1910 census has him as a steam railroad laborer. In 1920, the family was living in Oroville, Washington, working as a grocer. He died in Los Angeles, California on March 21, 1926, and is buried in Artesia Cemetery, Cerritos, California.
