Biography
Born at Minot, N.D., moved to Fargo, N.D. when his father was assigned to Olivet Lutheran Church. Graduated Fargo Central High School, Bachelor of Arts degree in 1949 from Concordia College, graduate work at Hamline University, Saint Paul, Minn., Master of Arts degree from University of Washington, director of music at University of Denver, 1953-1959, University of Iowa, 1961-1972, and taught at Oberlin College. He died in 2012 in Sarasota, Florida.
