Biography

Born at Lillehammer, Norway; immigrated with his parents to Sioux Falls, S.D. Wed Bessie Johnson in 1911. In 1919 they moved to Marmarth, N.D., later to a ranch between Medora and Sentinel Butte, N.D. Began painting during the 1930s, later entered art school. Also an accomplished blacksmith, he designed a sign for entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Medora, N.D.
