Scope and Contents

Spiral notebook kept by Miss Fetcher related to her teaching career. Contains school attendance statistics, ideas on how to react to students in certain situations, list of teachers and when they came, transferred or left, and presidents of PTA?. Most of the notebook contains comments primarily humorous, made by students, organized by year from 1923 to 1976. Includes quote from Norma Egstrom (Peggy Lee) whom Fetcher taught in 1933-1934. There is also a copy of the Roosevelt school bulletin for 1959-1960.

Biography

Ella M. Fetcher was born at Enderlin, N.D. in 1894. She graduated from Valley City State College (N.D.) and taught school in Jamestown, N.D. for many years, retiring as principal of the Roosevelt School there. She also operated a private kindergarten in Jamestown. She died in Fargo in 1979.
