Born in Stolp, Pomerania, Germany. Immigrated with his family to N.D. Wed Augusta Janz in 1901, hired as an agricultural laborer on the Amenia and Sharon Land Company farm, Cass County, N.D. Farmed his own land in Cass County. Died in Fargo, N.D.
