History

The Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES) was founded in 1980 as an opposition to U.S. aid to the government in El Salvador during the civil war there. When the civil war ended in 1992, CISPES has worked with a variety of groups that are in opposition to economic policies of free trade. The group also now helps monitor elections for potential fraud. These papers relate to the Fargo-Moorhead chapter of this group.
