Notarized photograph of 1872 list of birthdates for Francis and Maria E. Manchester Lewis' children; includes Lucinda C. Moulton, second wife of Francis Lewis and their children also. Typed copy of interview and corrections with T.I. Lewis, contains mention of his brothers, Arthur and Albert, their Davenport, N.D. grocery store, their partnership with James Yoder of Fargo, Addison Leech, James Kennedy, T.I.'s career as a watchmaker and jeweler and later as a representative of Griggs Cooper, Saint Paul, Minn. company, his singing with the Imperial Quartet (1895-1916). Newspaper clippings of various family members also included.

Biography

Pioneer family who moved to Fargo, N.D. from New Bedford, Mass. Father Francis Lewis was a whaler who took up farming in Cass County; son T.I. (Irving Theodore) was trained as watchmaker and jeweler, owned a jewelry business in Fargo, lived and died in Moorhead, Minn.; sons Arthur G. and Albert C. owned a Davenport, N.D. grocery store, sold out in 1893, formed partnership with James Yoder known as Yoder and Lewis, lost it in the 1893 Fargo fire. Arthur left Fargo in 1910 for Hood River, Oregon where he later died. Albert lived in Tower City, Valley City, Jamestown, and Fargo, where he died.
