Letter, typed summary of interview with H. Dan and Zoe McGrew (3 leaves) concerning the Hill Farm, its buildings, the house, a dam built by Walter Hill and altered by Maurice Florance, the farm after the Florance family purchased it, and Dan's purchase in 1948. Also includes typed copies of newspaper clippings about the sale of the Hill Farm, McGrew's own farm being sold to his hired man, Steve Boychuk, and the McGrew's 25th wedding anniversary.

Biography

Born at Muscatine, Iowa. Worked at Joint Stock Land Bank, Chicago, Ill. Began farming at Hallock, Minn. in 1929. Purchased a large tract of land near Donaldson, Minn. in 1937, purchased another farm in 1938 in the same area. Bought the Hill Farm (also known as the Northcote Farm) from Maurice J. Florance in 1948; Florance and his father Edward had purchased several small tracts that had been the original Hill Farm.
