Scope and Contents

Two handwritten letters in Icelandic with handwritten English translations. One letter, written in 1890, from J. Petursson, Cash City, Canada to someone in North Dakota, mentions the cold, Icelanders in Canada, and threshers from Dakota. The other letter, also dated 1890, written by Stephen G. Stephansson, Greenwater, Iceland mentions family members, deaths of friends and a sister-in-law dying in childbirth. Provenance of letters unknown.

Biography

Christian B. Bjornson was born September 3, 1908. He was married on May 25, 1941 to Alice P. Husfloen. He was a veterinarian and was a past president and secretary of the North Dakota Veterinarian Medical Association.
