Biography

James Scott was born in Philipbough, Scotland in 1872 to William and Elizabeth (Elliot) Scott. He and his parents immigrated that same year to London, Canada. At the age of 20, he came to Ayer, Dakota Territory where he worked for John Beattie, who was his cousin. He then went to work for the Park Farm. Eventually, James would start farming northeast of Buffalo, from 1895 to 1945 when he retired.

James married Isabella Grieve in 1895 (d. 1903) and they had three children, William (d. 1901), Gladys (married J. Wadeson, d. 1966), and Robert (d. 1926).

James married Lottie Baker in 1905 (d. 1922) and had three more children, Lucille (Married Harry Smith), Lindsay, and Myrl.

In 1941, James married Ida Grieve. He and Ida would eventually die in a car accident while on their way to church in 1958.
