Biography

Born at Fayette, Ill., moved with his family to Iowa, later to Glendive, Mont. in 1882. Finally settled at Sidney, Mont. Attended college at Valparaiso, Ind. Wed Katheryne Unfred (d. 1951) in 1903. Rancher, owned a trucking firm and a construction business in Montana. Elected to both houses of Montana legislature, served as Dawson County, Mont. commissioner 1908. Organized Nonpartisan League in Montana with A.C. Townley and Burton K. Wheeler, moved to Williston, N.D. Active in Williams County (N.D.) Nonpartisan League. Died at Williston, N.D. where he was bidding on a street light project.
