History

Railroad line running from Edgeley, N.D. to Wimbledon, N.D., headquartered in Jamestown, N.D. Organized in 1909, discontinued operations in 1970 after extensive damage to track bed and bridges occurred. Originally planned to run from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Galveston, Texas, actually covered eighty-six miles of track at peak of operations. In 1934, the first diesel locomotive used in the Midwest was owned by Midland Continental. Frank A. Seiberling owned the railroad until 1966; sold it to Northern Pacific Railroad and Soo Line Railroad.
