Born in Norway, son of Thore Jansen and Anne Pedersdatter Tranaplads (1852-1947). Immigrated in 1869, homesteaded near Norman, N.D. Wed Kari Olerud in 1882. Retired to Fargo. Buried at Kindred, N.D.
