Biography

Born at Spring Valley, Minn., son of Eber Allis and Sara L. (Sanborn) Smith. Wed Effie Christian in 1904. Homesteaded at Antler, N.D. Graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College in 1914, later received his master's degree from there. Employed as agronomist at Dickinson, N.D. experiment station from 1914 to 1948. Studied art through correspondence courses. Retired to California in 1948.
