Biographical / Historical

Velva Diede was born in 1915 near Antelope in Stark County, N.D. After teaching a number of years, she moved to Washington. In 1940 she married Clarence Walden, also a teacher. They moved to Gridley, Calif. in 1942 and in 1971 to Coos Bay, Oregon.

Velva Diede was born in Feb. 24, 1915 near Antelope in Stark County, N.D. to Christian and Maria Diede. After teaching a number of years, she moved to Washington. In 1940 she married Clarence Walden, also a teacher. They moved to Gridley, Calif. in 1942 and in 1971 to Coos Bay, Oregon. She died in East Sandwich, Mass. on Dec. 17, 2005.
