This collection contains legal documents relating to the Hudson homestead and farming materials. It also contains a small biography on Martha Manetta Grant Hudson, as well as, a small biography on Emma Blanche Hudson. It also contains a small obituary for another family member.

Biography

William Hudson was born in Walkertown, Ontario, Canada on June 8, 1851 to English parents. He emigrated from Walkertown, Ontario, arrived in Dakota Territory 1871. He farmed in Gardner Township, Cass County, N.D. He married Martha Manetta Grant who was born in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada on March 17, 1857. They eventually built a one room house on their farmstead by 1879. They lived on the farm in Gardner township until Martha died February 17, 1906.

William and Martha had eight children that included, Mary Matilda, Blanche Emma, W. J. Hudson, Elisabeth Hudson, and Charles H. Hudson. William died in Cass County, North Dakota, on May 27, 1919.
