Biography

William’s birth place is disputed with some locations saying Vermont and others saying Hampton, New York. He was, however, born July 10, 1836 to Ethan A. and Sally (Willis) Warren. In 1858 in Kingsbury, New York, William married Jane Marion Robinson. They would have three children, Frederick W., Adalade, and Caroline. In 1878, William and his family moved to Mayville, North Dakota at the request of the Grandin families and William became the Grandin farm manger. William and his wife stayed in the area until January of 1887 when William died of yellow jaundice and Marion following him in death just nineteen days later.
