Scope and Contents

Cody Stanley’s Master’s Thesis is titled “Beryl Levine: North Dakota’s First Female State Supreme Court Justice.” This collection consists of a copy of the thesis, and six CD’s that contain oral interviews used for the thesis. There are also permission forms signed by each interviewee.The interviews were conducted with Sara Andrews Herman, Beryl Levine, Mary Maring, Maurice J. McCormick, George Sinner, and Gerald VanderWall.

Biography

Cody Stanley was a 2009 master’s degree graduate from the history department at North Dakota State University. His research was conducted to look at North Dakota's first female State Supreme Court Justice, Beryl Levine and the North Dakota State Supreme Court as a whole and any changes that the court had gone through in the decades leading up to the time of his thesis.
