Biography
The history of this song is not well known. What is known is that D. W. Clark composed and copyrighted the piece in 1911. It was arranged for piano by Marguerite Van Praag. At that time, the North Dakota regimental band was located in Lisbon, North Dakota. This is just north of where the composer lived in Valley City, North Dakota where the G company of the North Dakota National Guard was headquartered at the time.
