Scope and Contents

The North Dakota EANGUS Auxiliary records consist of the original charter certificate, newsletters, monthly publications, thank-you notes, correspondence, membership and conference forms, bylaws, pictures, conference agendas, and pamphlets from tourist sites at the various national conferences.

The North Dakota EANGUS Auxiliary conference materials series is arranged chronologically from 1987-2008. The majority of the series are agenda and informational items to guide visitors at the North Dakota state conferences. The 2000 national EANGUS conference which took place in Bismarck, ND is included. The national conference material is a collection of correspondence, thank you notes and printed photographs from the event.

The North Dakota EANGUS Auxiliary subscription publications series consists of three different publications: The North Dakota National Guard Enlisted Informer (1987-2005) was produced by the North Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association. Auxiliary news was included in the issues. The Prairie Rose (1996-2009) was a publication ran directly by the North Dakota EANGUS Auxiliary. The Area V Messenger (1997-2010) was a publication ran by the regional section of the EANGUS Auxiliary. The North Dakota EANGUS Auxiliary was a part of Area V. The subscriptions are arranged by title and then chronologically.

The ND EANGUS Auxiliary scrapbooks series are arranged chronologically from 1982-2009. The scrapbooks contain material from the state and national conferences.

Biography

The North Dakota (ND) Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) Auxiliary was given charter number 30 on September 9, 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee at the 9th annual EANGUS national conference. The ND EANGUS Auxiliary consisted mostly, but not exclusively, of the wives of current and former enlisted Army and Air Force service members. The ND EANGUS Auxiliary’s mission was to support service members and their families, fundraise, attend state and national conferences, and contribute to the lobbying efforts of EANGUS.
