Biography

Milton Leroy Madson was born near Gardner, North Dakota to Milton O. and Gladys (Schafer) Madson on August 8, 1936. He graduated high school in 1954 and would attend several area higher education schools. He eventually received his bachelors and masters from Mayville State College. Madson was a teacher who taught in, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Alaska, where he was named Alaska Teacher of the year in 1987. He would eventually return home to the family farm near Gardner. He moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 2009. Madson was very involved in local and family history and taught genealogy for the Norwegian Totenlag. He passed away on April 3, 2016.
