This collection was donated by Miriam Jewett Webster’s daughter Elizabeth in the late 1980s. It contains 27 photographs of her family members and classmates while at North Dakota Agricultural College. It also contains documentation relating to those photographs as well as a correspondence from John Bye, the former archivist at the NDSU archives discussing the collection.
The collection was originally located in an unprocessed university archives collection. It was deemed that it didn’t belong there and was removed to be made into a small collection.

Biography
George Darrell Jewett was born February 18, 1845 in Richmond Virginia to Samuel Albert Jewett and Dora Pearson Rundlett. He would have seven children, Albert Carallo, Josephine Gale, Maud, Helen, Miriam, Inez Jewett, and George Darrel Jewett.
Miriam Laurel Jewett was born in 1881 in Casselton, North Dakota to George Darrwell Jewett and Johnaphine Lightfoot Gale. She and her family would eventually more to Faro, North Dakota around 1898. She, like her sisters Josephine and Helen attended North Dakota Agricultural College but Miriam did not graduate, as she was only 16 at the time. She did play basketball for the school.
Miriam married John Mark Webster in 1905 in Fresno California. She would have three children, Miriam Eloise, Elizabeth, and John Mark, Jr. Miriam died in Arcadia, California in 1965.
