Biography

The Communications Workers of America is a union that represents workers across the United States in a variety of industries such as telecommunications, information technology, airlines, news media, etc. The group was founded in 1938 in two places, Chicago, Illinois, and New Orleans, Louisiana and was first known as the National Federation of Telephone Workers. Their name changed to the Communications Workers of American in 1947.

It is unclear when the Fargo chapter was started but the records date back to the late 1970s. According to the website from the Communications Workers of America, the local chapter is still active.
