Biographical / Historical

“The Graduate Program in Community and Regional Planning was approved by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education during the summer of 1971. Emphasis is placed on planning and development for smaller communities and non-urban areas with particular attention given to the Upper Midwest area of the United States.” (Graduate Bulletin, p. 89, 1972-1974) As reported on page 1 of the February 2, 1990 Spectrum: “Graduate Planning Program eliminated - Eight graduate students enrolled in community and Regional Planning will have a chance to complete their studies before the program is cut. The program will be eliminated under the cuts recently announced by SU President Jim Ozbun.”
