This collection contains copies of genealogical information for both the Seniff and Brase family with the bulk of the material being relating to the Brase family. It also includes maps relating to familial locations, photographs, and materials related to the donor’s Shanley High yearbook for 1954 and materials relating to that class’s reunions.

Biography

Mary Louise Santelman Brase was born January 19, 1861 in Red Win, Minnesota. She moved to Gardner, North Dakota and lived there for 30 years before moving to Fargo. Heinrich “Henry” Brase came to Goodhue County, Minnesota in 187 as a teenager. He and his family would eventually move to Valley City, North Dakota. He would move back to Fargo where he would die from Bright’s Disease at the age of 62, in 1921.

The Brases’ children were as follows at the time of their parents’ death: Della Brase, Mrs. Ida Barnes, Mrs. C. E. Sneff, Mrs. Jake Marshall, Mrs. Harvey Carrall, Mrs. Max Smith, Mrs. N. J. McDonald, Leon Brase and Earl Brase.
