Biography

Nickolas John Brown was born to Francis W. and Anna (Maus) Brown in North Dakota in September 22, 1901. He would eventually married Ella H. (Zick) Brown. They would seven children together (Ella had two sons from a previous marriage that Nick adopted). The Nick and Ella would become famous for having the first surviving quadruplets in North Dakota.



Connie, Clair, Cleo, and Clayton Brown were born February 6, 1941 in St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Though they survived (they were born early), they spent 14 months in St. John’s. They would become a national sensation and even be featured in a Carnation company ad along with another set of multiples.



Today, only Connie is sill living. Clayton died in 2020, Clair in 2001, and Cleo in 2018.
