Scope and Content

The collection contains only one photograph, 29 x 33 cm. on a cardboard mount. The photograph shows the Alphonse Rheauplt family taken around 1913, based upon the general ages of the family members. Identification handwriten on the cardboard mount state - "Row 3 - Ernest Rheault - Morinville - Dubord - Louis Rheault - Amedeus Rheault. 2 - Marie - Josephine - Lumina - Emma. 1 - Adolph (Pete) - Grandpa Alphonse - Rose (Sr. Alphonse Marie) Grandma Clothilde - Bernadette" - handwritten on front of cardboard mount. The photographer is unknown.

Biography

Alphonse Rheault was born in St. Maurice, Quebec, Canada on Feb. 21, 1859. As a young man, he came to North Dakota. Here he married Clothilda Sauvageau. They first farmed in Richland County, and in the 1890s moved to Section 21, Stanley Township, Cass County, near Wild Rice. They had the following children, Lumina, Amede, Josephine, Anne, Louise, Zoe, Adolph, Eugenie Rosa, Bernadette, Severin, Rose and Ernest. Clothilda died on March 28, 1930, and Alphonse died on October 22, 1942.
