Scope and Content
The Happy Hour Homemakers Club contains 8 snapshots. They include a homemaker’s club exhibit at the Red River Valley Fair dated, July 12, 1929. It is a booth for the Grand Harbor Homemakers Club of Ramsey County, not the Happy Hour club. There is a print showing picnic hour on Annual Achievement Day June 18, 1935. There are two photos from picnics, one dated 1948, and one 1949.There are three photographs date stamped Sep. 1956 showing homemakers dressed in old time costumes with a parade float. The final photograph is a color snapshot of a poster hanging on a wall that states “Trail” and “GHP-MBMc”.

History
The Happy Hour Homemakers Club was organized in the fall of 1928 in Bohnsack Township of Traill County at the home of Nora Bohnsack. Julia Brekke of the North Dakota Agricultural College Extension staff was present to explain the purpose of such a club. In December 1928, the Constitution was written and adopted. There were seventeen charter members. The first year of work consisted of miscellaneous topics. The next two years the club members took the Sewing Project followed by the Gardening and Nutrition Project. Other activities of the Club included Red Cross work, a party for the local teachers, and donations to the Good Samaritan Home in Fargo, Crippled Children Home, and the Hillsboro Hospital. In
1976, the Club’s members arranged the all-class reunion of the Bohnsack Consolidated School. The club has celebrated its various anniversaries including 1953, 1963, and 1979.
