Scope and Content
The Andrew Jensen Photograph Collection contains only two photographic prints. One shows Andrew Jensen mining for gold in Nome, Alaska. The second photograph is of the Seventh Alaska Legislature, Juneau, dated April 30, 1925. Andrew's son Thomas is one of the members seated in front.

Biography
Andrew Jensen was born at Lugumkloster, Denmark, November 7, 1850. He emigrated to U.S. 1867, settling in Iowa. He married Ingeborg Schmidt, in Mason City, Iowa in 1876. She was born in Brede, Schleswig-Holstein, Denmark, on Nov. 24, 1851, and came to the U.S. at age 22.
In 1879, the moved to a farmed near Buffalo, North Dakota. The moved to Alaska briefly during the 1898 gold rush with their son Thomas D., They then returned to North Dakota and moved to Fargo in 1913. Andrew held numerous township and county offices, and was active in the Masonic lodge. They were the parents of ten children. Andrew died on August 7, 1933, and Ingeborg on October 27, 1949.
