Scope and Contents

This collection consists a single photograph picturing a group of men, two women, and a dog posing in front of an elevated building. Written on the back of the photograph is descriptions and names of some of those pictures in the photograph, which says this is George Jacobson’s threshing crew. There is no date on the photograph but it most likely was taken in the 1890s or very early 1900s.

Biography

George Jacobson was born December 26, 1858 in Iowa to Andrew and Julia (Oppen) Jacobson. George helped farm until he followed a brother to Cass county, North Dakota where he homesteaded in 1878. He married in 1979 or 1880 to Marie Blili. They had at least four children. George died in1921 and is buried in North Pleasant Cemetery in Cass County, North Dakota.
