Scope and Content

This collection is about A.K. Westergaard and the Westergaard family who had immigrated from Demark to the United States in 1918. The documents are arranged by topics and by what year they are dated, with his Citizenship and Nationalization being the first documents in the folder. It looked like the family had a deed for two plots of land. There is also a section of the Bill of Sale and contract of sale for a car. A.K. Westergaard also had stock in a couple of oil companies. There are also letters from Charlies to a relative, a letter from A.K. Westergaard to Mr. Paul Borige, and a letter for Henry Westergaard from a General Motors Acceptance branch manager. The end documents are a funeral card for Mrs. A.K. Westergaard, Anna, and the family's linage.

Biography

Andrew Kristian Westergaard was born on July 30th, 1861, in Koglun, Denmark; he later immigrated to the United States in 1918. On May 26th,1945, he received Nationization in Cando city within Towner County, North Dakota. According to the United States Federal Census in 1910, he married Anna J Sorenson; they had been married for 25 years. Annie Westergaard had given birth to nine children, except seven of them lived. When the Westergaard children were older, they moved to Sauk Centre, Stearns County, Minnesota. On April 7th of 1927, Anna had passed away; her funeral was five days later, April 12th. Two of their children were born in Denmark, and the others were born in Minnesota. When the Westergaard children were older, they moved to Sauk Centre, Stearns County, Minnesota. Mr.Westergard had many jobs, such as carpenter, mechanic, or helper. He also invested in the oil stock from 1920 to 1941, where his daughter Margret, also known as Maggie, had received the final Texaco from the Atkins oil company because A.K. Westergaard had pasted away on the 21st of Febuarry in 1934.
