This collection contains two photographs. One is of a man holding a horse and written on the back that is labeled Norman McIvor. It is undated. The second photo is of the postcard variety and is written on the back, “my mother and father in their late 70s”. It is also undated.

Biography

Norman McIvor was born in on February 22, 1871 in Bruce, Ontario, Canada to Allan and Catherine (McLeod) McIver. He immigrated sometime between 1879 and 1881 with his family to the northern part of the Red River Valley. In 1885 he and his family were living in Hampden, Minnesota. He met his wife, Harriet Ellen Fitzpatrick (1880-1963) at a farm where she worked for the cook Annie Nelson and they married on September 3, 1904. They had two children, Lawrence, and LaVerne Helen. Norman died on September 10, 1934 in Poppleton Township, Minnesota and is buried in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Lancaster, Minnesota.
