Biography

Johannes Arnston Opgrande was born February 12, 1854 in Straumen, Norway. To Arnt Pedersen Opgrande and Bereth Pedersdatter Berg. He arrived to the United States around 1873. He would eventually settle in Minnesota and worked several jobs including laborer. He married Elida Margarethe Vinje on June 2, 1884. They had at least eight children. The family would eventually move to Halstad, Minnesota. He died in August 19, 1918 in Norman County, Minnesota and is buried in Halstad Lutheran South Cemetery, Minnesota
