This collection contains two photographic prints. One print is of a man holding a rifle and standing in front of building. Behind him a dog is laying on the ground. On the back of the photograph is labeled R. M. Pollock. The other photograph is a studio portrait of a man and is unlabeled. Neither photograph is dated.

Biography

Ebenezer “Eben” George Guthrie was born December 24, 1861 to George William and Eliza (Cotton) Guthrie in Armley, England. Eben arrived, per census records, in 1870 or 1871. He traveled to at least Illinois until he settled in Iowa, where on June 3, 1887, he married Grace Jenkins. They had at least two children, Gladys, and Gwen. The family would eventually move north, to Casselton, North Dakota, where the family would settle. Eban would be active in the Mason fraternity in Casselton. Eventually, Eben would move into Fargo, North Dakota. He died there, August 12, 1935 and is buried in Casselton Cemetery in Casselton, North Dakota.
