Scope and Contents

This collection consists of post cards showing various photographs from a general category to school scenes to places in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Many of the postcards have writing on them to Guri Lee.

Biography

Guri Lee was born, April 14, 1890 to Endre Olsen and Anne (Sandersdatter) Lee in Gol, Norway. She and her family immigrated to the U.S. around 1900. The family eventually made their way to Minnesota, settling in Dieter Township. Guri eventually graduated and by 1913 was at Lutheran Normal School (now known as Augustana) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She would eventually become a teacher and taught in several places including Gwinner, North Dakota. In 1940, she was living with her brother in Dieter, Minnesota. Not much is known after this.



Guri Lee died September 17, 1981 and is curried in Concordia Cemetery in Roseau County, Minnesota.
