Scope and Content
The William Lewis Guy, Sr. Photograph Collection contains three professional panoramic photographic prints of William L. Guy, Sr. among others at the Northwest Farm Managers Association 1933 tour of the Twin City Milk Plant in Farmington, Minn., and the Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) Representatives on visit to the White House, in 1936. The third panoramic photo shows James Guy with is class at the U.S. Naval Training Station, in Great Lakes, Illinois in 1940. (This collection is located in Map Case Drawer 9)

Biography
William Lewis Guy was born November 19, 1890 in Bourdon, Indiana to James and Matilda Guy. He came to North Dakota in 1908 when he was eighteen. He completed his college career at North Dakota Agricultural College in 1916. Following this, he worked from 1917 to 1921 as the Ramsey county agent. From 1922 to 1926 he was the Cass County agent. From 1927 until he retired, he was the farm manager for the Chaffee farms in Amenia, North Dakota. In addition to managing the Chaffee farms he also was the pas president of the Farm Managers Association; he served as the director for the Cass County National Farm Loan Association; and he was a former head of the NDAC Alumni association.
On November 29, 1918, William Guy married Mable Leet. Hey would have three children, William Guy (See SC 1136 for a biography on William Guy, Jr.), John Guy, and James Guy. James Guy served during World War Two and died while a prisoner of War on September 12, 1943. William Guy, Sr. died May 6, 1942 in Fargo, North Dakota.
Mable Leet was born July 30, 1894 in Lake Cavanaugh, North Dakota to Ole and Margi Leet.
