Scope and Contents

The Fargo-Moorhead Ministerial Association Records which document the activities of the association have been organized into four series: meeting minutes, correspondence, financial records and subject files series. The first file contains the association's Articles of Organization which were adopted April 13, 1931. The Meeting Minutes Series covers the period from 1936 to 1967 and appears quite complete. They document very well the interests and activities of the organization. The Correspondence Series consists of only one file covering the periods from 1950 to 1952 and from 1957 to 1967. It is very incomplete and consists mainly of incoming and outgoing letters of the secretary. The Financial Records Series covers the period from 1949 to 1964 and is complete, detailing the receipts and disbursements of the organization. The Subject Files Series contains various miscellaneous files including programs from sponsored ecumenical services and various lists of F-M churches. The minutes are very incomplete for the F-M Joint Ministerium Board for the period from 1962 to 1967. This Board was composed of representatives of the Lutheran Ministerium, Evangelical Ministerium and the Fargo-Moorhead Protestant Ministerium. The Homecoming Sunday file covers the period from 1940 to 1942 and contains reports, correspondence, publicity and programs. This annual event was sponsored by the Association. The Membership lists cover the period from 1949 to 1966. The first meeting minute volume has such lists from 1936 to 1944. The Newspaper clipping file contains articles on local ministers.
