History
The first meeting of the Minot Association of Congregational Churches and Ministers of the State of North Dakota was held on June 29, 1903. The purpose of the Association was to “promote the fellowship, co-operation and efficiency of the Churches and ministers in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Constitution, pg. 1). Congregational ministers in the area were invited to participate. In addition, the Association would consider including ministers from other denominations who “give sufficient evidence of intelligent acceptance of Congregational doctrine, principles and polity….” (Constitution, pd. 1). A constitution was adopted at the first meeting. Plans were made to meet annually.
While the constitution designated the name of the organization as the Minot Association, minutes consistently refer to it as the Mouse River Association.
