Scope and Contents

The Prairie Riders Saddle Club Scrapbook documents its activities from 1970 through 1977, with additional documents related to events sponsored by the club through 1982 that are loose in the scrapbook. Most of the scrapbook items are newspaper clippings from the local Rugby, N.D. newspaper with several typed articles and snapshots. At the end of the scrapbook are four photographs of club members meeting Governor Bill Guy as part of their Ride to Bismarck event, held June 1-2, 1970.

History

The founding of the Prairie Riders Saddle Club is not known, and no indication is given within the scrapbook, although it must have been at least in the 1960s or earlier. The club held various events in the Rugby community including Trail rides, ‘Fun Days’ and horse shows. By 2001 the club had disbanded.
