Scope and Contents

From the Item: Journal. Southwestern Brotherhood records, general ledger format, 12 ¾” x 8 ½” x 2 1/4” thick. Hand-written in German. Dates range from 1913 to 1966. A number of pages are signed by the recorder. Very few written words are in English. Contents:



1. List of churches and dates for meetings by year from 1913 to 1941 on page 1 (list ends with #32). 2. Forward, dated 15 February 1913 on page 2. 3. Bible study, meetings or other records, from page 3 to page 328. Bible quotes noted. 4. Blank pages 329 to 455. 5. Transfers and expenditures, pages 456 to 461 dating from 1949-1965. 6. Blank pages 462 to 549. 7. Records, dated 1913 pages 550 to 559. 8. List of churches and dates for meetings by year from 1942 to 1965 on page 570 (list starts with #33). 9. Transfers and expenditures, pages 580 to 599 dates run 1913 to 1949.

Names recorded: Johann Riegel [appears as recorder through much of the journal] J. Aisenbrey [Jacob Aisenbrey, lay preacher, helped found area churches] Jacob Kirsch Many names appear starting on page 190.
