Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Ralph & Loretta (Jonas) Schultz Collection consists of fifty photographic images, eight German books, a printout biography of Regina (Geiszler) Schultz, called “5th Generations Crib,” and a newspaper clipping in the German language. The collection is organized into three series: Photograph, Book, and Subject.

The Photograph Series is the largest in the collection. It contains fifty images ranging from town life to family portraits and snapshots. The first thirteen images are copied photographs of Fredonia, North Dakota, dating from the early 1900s to 1996. These images are only available in digital format. The other thirty-seven photographs are actual prints in several different formats. They are mostly family portraits and snapshots. In the collection, these photographs have been organized by their format. The vast majority of the photographs are unidentified and undated. However, the photographs probably range from the late 1880s to the 1950s.

The Book Series has one book in the German language dated 1960. It is in good condition.

The Subject Series has a printed biography of Regina (Geiszler) Schultz, called “5th Generations Crib,” and a newspaper clipping from an unknown source. The clipping is in the German language. On one side there is an ad for a sleeplessness remedy and on the other side is an ad for tulips.
